Having races, causing gridlock, making slides and dens were just a few of the antics the children got up to this week in the main hall. It was great to be back again with our old and new friends after the long Christmas break. The children settled back in really quickly to the Pre-school routine. Rolling out playdough, setting up the dolls house, sliding on the climbing frame and enjoying snack together were just some of the activities this week.
At the Christmas party the children were brilliant acting out the story ‘Careful Santa’ in front of their loved ones. After singing some Christmas songs we had an exciting visit from Santa. Christmas activities continued this week with the children’s enthusiasm not wavering. Making Christmas cards, decorating the Christmas tree, sorting Christmas shaped pasta into baskets, and icing their Christmas cakes were just some of the activities offered. Planting bulbs and smashing ice were just two of the different outside activities the children enjoyed this week. Practicing their fine motor skills by matching the coloured spots to the pipe cleaners and pushing them into the cardboard helped children develop colour recognition as well.
